The review provides data on the prevalence, causes, and approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of hyperprolactinemia. Hyperprolactinemia (GP) is one of the most common disorders associated with pathology of the hypothalamic-pituitary system. Diagnosis and treatment of GP remains relevant in the clinical practice of both endocrinologists and doctors of other specialties In recent years, the attention of doctors of various specialties has been increasingly attracted by diseases and syndromes associated with impaired prolactin secretion. It turned out that excessive secretion of prolactin, which previously played a modest role, is responsible for more than 35% of cases of menstrual disorders, infertility in women, decreased libido, gynecomastia in men. The purpose of this work is to study and summarize scientific information regarding hyperprolactinemia and its effect on the functioning of the reproductive axis of the female and male body.
